You Love the Holidays

You enjoy every aspect of the holidays, but you don't go overboard. You believe that it's important to relax this time of year.

You get into the holiday spirt, and you enjoy every activity - from baking cookies to shopping for personalized gifts.

That being said, the holidays are a lot of work. You're both happy to see them come and happy to see them go.

You're a bit of a traditionalist. You think the holidays start too soon and are a bit too commercial. You wish that people understood the true meaning of the season.

How Much Do You Love the Holidays?

As usual, we have a very busy weekend ahead of us. What's new? But we meant to enjoy every minute of it. We're invited to S 3rd birthday party tomorrow afternoon.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

A little update on Jens. He likes posing now and saying "cheese".

He's really getting quite good in his toilet training. He sits at small toilet at "school" (I'm not sure if they have Toto toilets) and he just uses his potty at home - I haven't bought a small toilet chair yet.

I left work early today. A tummy flu virus has been going on around and I thought I had a tough tummy but it has caught up on me on a more uncomfortable level today. I've been feeling bloated yesterday but I just brushed it off. Today, I wake up with a headache. I've been thinking all the way to work that I just slept in an un-comfortable position and woke up in the wrong side of the bed. I felt the symptoms again at work but I thought, I was just hungry so I ate and ate and by lunch time I was not at ease anymore that I decided to leave for the day early.

It was good as I was able to picked up Jens early - a little bit different from what he used to. Have a little bit of rest and went shopping (not for glass tiles but for food)at night. It was a relaxing night for Jens and I, no cramming and and hurrying up to get to bed.

My brother in the Philippines wants to buy a used motorcycle but he can’t afford it. Well, supposedly big sister should lend a helping hand. But I don’t have money to spare. Mcj told me last night, we could if I haven’t been shopping every weekend like it’s going out of fashion.

That struck home. I realised that. I have actually been thinking for a couple of weeks now and asking myself, why do I feel the urge to go somewhere particularly at the shops every week (but I haven’t bought any iphone accessories). That, despite our weekly shopping.

The answer? I’ve been tiresome and bored so I would drag Jens to any shops. Being a shopaholic has actually caught on Jens now. This all started when I know how to drive and owned a car.

With the realisation, admission and the resolve to change come alternative activities. Actually, not alternative but simply activities that have run out of fashion in my books. Things like sewing, cooking, baking, decorating, organising.

I am setting goals now so I will be inspired to do them. Like:
• Cook one new meal every weekend.
• Bake at least twice a month.
• Create, sew or mend one item once a month.
• Organise one drawer, cupboard or wardrobe once a month.
• Go to the park, pool or beach every weekend.

I have to do a series of tasks first before I can work on them but hey, I’m on the first step. I need to focus. Well, I suppose with the big holiday coming up, I can be excused if I’m a bit slack.

As for my brother, I have to mull over at least 50 times if his wish will come true.
