You Are Absurdism

You just have to shake your head and laugh at the world. Everything is so crazy and absurd. You don't try to make sense of much, because you don't think there is much to make sense of. You kick back and try to enjoy the chaos. You'll only make yourself crazy if you try to find meaning in things.

Life is random, confusing, and one heck of a wild ride. Anything that makes sense is pure coincidence.

Oh well, some hit home and some didn't. What can I say? I'm a non-conformist (and brushing-off urban clothing) and I've long given up making sense of everything that happened. That's life and we all should enjoy it.

I’m not a heavy user of mobile phone now that I live Down Under. I just use it to keep in touch with friends and family and for emergency reason. I know, I must have been using it often enough but truth be known, I can last a day without looking at my mobile phone as long as I am with my one-and-a-half men. In fact, I only use a prepaid simcard. A 30-dollar credit lasts more than a month. How’s that for cost-cutting.

I’m not concerned with the model of my mobile phone either. I’m currently using a flip-top one and don’t even know the model. Though, I have moments of weakness that I wish to have an Iphone or any flashy mobile phone. But those moments don’t last long. I don’t need it.

And yet, when my boss ask me if I want an IPhone, I said yes after knowing that I don’t have to pay for it. Plus, the company is getting me a contract with our telco. It’s one of the perks of my employment. Should be read as one of things that will bind me with the company?

I signed the documents yesterday and I should have my phone early next week. I’m excited but not to the extent that I’m using sleep aids to go to sleep. Besides, I’m way past the stage and the age of getting hyped up for material things.

Like the host of this meme, I also don’t like small talks. It’s either I want to talk to you seriously or not at all. Sometimes, I dread small gatherings where people just stand and make small conversations. It’s just not for me. This meme is really a challenge and I hope that after answering this, I would somehow take off my small conversation skill (if I may call that) to a notch.

I assume that I am talking to a stranger here because if it’s the person I know or a close friend, I won’t be making small conversations. It would be straight to big bang. Lol.

1. “Come here often?”
Not enough or you wouldn’t have asked the question.

2. “What’s new?”
I’m here, that’s new.

3. “[insert your recent weather condition here] enough for ya?”
Sort of.

4. “How’s it hangin?” (This I like most)
Pretty high – it’s been cold. Hahaha. (Naughty me.)

5. “How ’bout them [insert local sports team here]?”
Oh, I just like watching them play but I don’t really know what the role of each player as long as they make tries. (I’m referring to NRL football here).

Really, that answer is not me when put on the spot. I might just nod or shake my head and smile like a dumbo. Nonetheless, I tried without beating myself up (which could have resulted to hair loss treatment).

In this case, none. Well, I suppose if you’re into Earth and Environment thingamajig, you would have more admiration for this creation.

Yvan Arpa's coprolite watch is a US$11,290 timepiece with a face made from fossil dinosaur turds and a band made from black cane-toad skin (normally poisonous, rendered inert through processing).

The thing is, coprolites just aren't that valuable. Dinosaurs left behind a lot of crap. This site sells coprolite at $8 per pound (it makes a wicked gift!).

Source
I just wonder if coprolites are for sale pound by pound, how many pounds did all the dinos left? Oh, I’ll make it simple. I just want to know if they are real.

For the band to be from cane toad – why didn’t anyone in Queensland think about this? We got heaps of cane toads that when you don’t watch when you open the door at night, they’ll jump in ahead of you.

Look what got me from reading so much stuff off the net. I better check out on the best vitamin supplements.

1. When was the last time you had a serious deadline to make, and did you make it?
Today - to finish the laundry while the sun is out. Washing these days are really serious as it's been raining almost everyday for the past 4 weeks.

2. Do you generally plan for deadlines, or are they more likely to sneak up on you until you’re frantic?
I do plan for them. I'm lousy when I'm cramming.

3. When did you last set a deadline for someone else, and did that person make it?
To my husband almost everyday. Hahaha. More like nagging. And he doesn't meet them just to annoy me.

4. How flexible and understanding are you when it comes to other people meeting your deadlines?
Very understandable for people outside my family but not with my Husband. Is it just me?

5. What were the circumstances the last time you hung up on someone in the middle of a phone call, or the last time someone hung up on you in the middle of a phone call?
Can't remember. I seldom use the phone.

My Friday Five this week. I had fun, thanks to the host.

Friday, March 5

That's how I feel these past two weeks. Thanks to the weather. Yes, it's been raining for more than two weeks now. It's not funny anymore.

I know the farmers would be very happy about it but it is a deluge. The rain has turned some parts of Queensland into a creek. A once drought-inflicted land has turned into a sea of murky water.

Today, people from some places have been cleaning up of what's left of their property. Stuff are lining up the streets either for drying or for dumping (maybe except for ping pong tables).

It's like a relief and disaster all at once.

Forecast is, it's going to rain for the next 7 days. Oh dear. I have washing to dry but that's the very least worry. It's those who live in flooded area that I am concerned about. They can only take so much of it, I reckon.

You Are Playful and Frisky

You're the type of person who always priorities having fun. Responsibilities can wait! Other people find you to be a good time, though they can't exactly depend on you to show up. You can't help but turn everything into a game. You are incredibly lighthearted and carefree. It's true that you take very little seriously, but very little is worth taking seriously.

What is one thing you should get rid of, but probably never will?

My old shoes. When my mind is not running around, I think about shoes - one of my fetish. And I swear, I have shoes that I should never wear again but they are still in good condition. Then, I would think of throwing them away but I just can't. I have this part of my mind asking lots of "what-ifs". I'm sure some of them, I've already got the value for my money as I bought them from sale anyway. Yet, when it comes to shoes.. I'm a hoarding to the nth degree.

My first entry for Friday Question.
