I'm East

You Are East

Like many Asian cultures, you tend to be reserved and conservative. You don't believe that your internal emotional life is anyone's business.

People admire that you are together and responsible. You're the type of person who seems to be living a good life.

Sometimes you come across as a bit cold and humorless. You only show the easygoing side of yourself to people you know well.

You make a good judge of ethical issues. You see right and wrong easily, without letting emotion color your opinion.

In some ways, it has some truth in it.

What’s Up?

It’s been a while since I last updated this blog. I have no excuse. It’s just me. Haha.

Work has been as usual. Sometimes busy, sometimes not. I visited two customers – with colleagues this week. So far so good. I had lunch with my boss and another lady co-worker – catching up on our personal lives.

I’m getting confident in my driving though I haven’t driven as far as the shopping centre. I haven’t forgotten to turn my lights on at night for a couple of weeks now, so I think that’s a good sign.

Jens has been back to “school” after his sick leave. He had 2 ear bugs and the first medication only treated one bug and I wonder why it was taking so long to heal. A few weeks after he went back to day care, he’s starting to have symptoms of cold and flu. It’s like his been hugging every preschool furniture at school to get all the germs around.

We went to see the Brisbane River Festival last Saturday. That’s another story to tell. Just a recap – it was fun with a bang!

Getting the Hang of It

Of driving that is.

When I was just learning how to drive, I often tell others that I don’t like driving. It makes me feel tired, pressured, stressed. In short, I don’t really like it. Little did I know that I would be influenced and have a change of heart when I have my own car – a car that I can manage and that is good and safe to drive.

I’m enjoying it now. Though, I still have to stop acting like a blonde and try to remember everything that I should need to do before I drive away especially turning on my light at night.

My checklist:
Seatbelt for me and Jens when he’s in the car
Check side mirrors and rear-view mirror
Temperature inside the car
Lights (when it is dark)

I practically changed all the settings in my car – seat pumped up, seat pushed forward, backrest pushed forward – all this makes it a bit awkward for me to get out of the car (as if I would need diet pills to get through) but these new settings allow me to drive comfortably.

I’ve been driving for 4 days now and so far, so good. I’m really looking forward to drive everyday so I can practise parking.

Christmas

Working for home today. Have to spend half day organising the papers for my car.

I Now Like Driving

That's the third time I drove my car including the test drive. I feel confident. I like this car, very smooth and quite. The size is so fit for me - manageable.
Notice how the seat is propped-up with a pillow - that even when it has already been adjusted to the max. Also, it is pushed forward and the steering wheel adjusted down. I'm just so happy that this car is quite flexible for my size.
Also notice my big fat belly? Do you think, I now need a weight loss pill? I don't think so. It's just that because my jeans are low waisted.

My New Baby

Oh, I am not preggers again. Nor I am replacing Jens. Hahaha.

Just this.
My OWN. In my name.

It’s used. I am practical. I can’t drive our car confidently – it’s a 4WD for crying out loud. All I wanted is something smaller that I can use so I won’t forget how to drive as well as the road rules. We were looking for a cheap one but also not a death trap.

This one has always been the car brand and model that we’ve wanted me to have. It’s within the price range that we are willing to pay. It’s cheaper compared to the internet rates.

Our 4th wedding anniversary is 2 days shy of the end of August. I asked Mcj if this is our gift to us. And he said, why does it have to be for something? Oh well. For me it is, so to always remind me how special this car is.

It's Holiday in Brissie

I'm at home, eating fish and chips for lunch while blogging.

Dropped off Jens to "school" around 9 this morning. I then went to the library and Mcj went home. The plan was, I'm going to catch the bus on the way home. It would be two rides and a few meters walk to get home. The bus was taking so long on the first leg that I just walked up to the shops. Did some retail therapy - bought a bag, two tops, organising tray and Jens' education board. And lunch.

Mcj was hold off the phone for at least an hour that he couldn't pick me up so my hot lunch was getting soggy but still hot - from the sun. After an hour wait for the 2nd leg of the bus ride, I rang Mcj and luckily, he was off the hook and told me to wait for him.

I tried to drive from the car park at the shop, I just got frustrated and gave up. You know, you can't concentrate when there is someone nudging you what to do and at the same time, the parking is very tight and you are driving a 4WD. I'm really going to push getting a small card - I'm eyeing for a Suzuki Swift. First, I have to get an online life insurance quote, err just in case, you know (knock on wood) and of course ring up some cheap car insurance.

I have a dental appointment at around 2pm. My day is busy but I'm happy - don't have to think of work for at least another 12 hours.

By the way, it's Ekka Day in Brisbane. We pass it up this year as Jens is just over of a nasty cold and flu. We don't want another health disaster.
