Injured

Our Lucky is sporting a broken left paw and is a hoppy. This may sound cruel as it is, but the wilflife around here has never been safer.

He had a catfight one night, might be with a dog or cat. I saw blood droplets on the landing the next day and he was nowhere in sight. We thought he was badly injured. He showed up in the middle of the day hopping.

Now, he needs a ladder inorder to get to his food. He just lurks around the house day in and out. The birds are teasing him - feeding lazily in the backyard even if he's nearby. It might be frustrating for Lucky.

Thankfully though, despite his injury, his appetite was never low. We still buy the same amount of cat supplies.

Our Weekend

How's your weekend everyone? Ours was busy though not anymore. We are now relaxing infront of the pc while Jens sleeps away.

We had a pretty hectic Sunday. It is the 1st birthday of Jens' mate, H and the party was in the park in Bribie Island.

We haven't bought a gift before today so we went to the shop around lunch for that purpose but of course, who wouldn't be tempted to browse around. We actually did some shopping (for me). We got carried away from hopping from one store to the next that it was already 1.30 when we noticed the time and we haven't had lunch yet. Plus the "we don't have a gift yet" moment. So I hurried to the bookstore to grab some books and off we went to buy take-away and eat in the car on the way to the party.

As if we were not running late yet, we bumped into the ex-neighbour of Mcj at the parking lot. Blah blah blah.

Finally, we got to the party. It was very simple. What can you expect on a 1st bday party? Here, anyway. But the little boy had fun.

Though apart of me was somewhat worried when I see the news about a typhoon back home. It was said here that it was Southern Philippines so I thought, it was in Mindanao. Later, I saw Iloilo in the footage and it got me more worried, especially of my family. It is at times like this that term life insurance of the breadwinner is a must. This may sound odd, but I'm actually relieved that the place of my parents was not the center of the typhoon. But my heart aches for those who are affected particularly those in the ferry that capsized. It was just horrible.

Sharing the Love

I thought sometimes that I want to be an organ donor. But, I haven't made up my mind yet. What's keeping me? I want Mcj's approval and he hasn't said anything about it. Yet!

This tag, for me is special. It's really sharing the love. I am moved. Thanks, Mich.

So, here are the rules Crystal gave:

“The rules of this award are: SHARE THE LOVE!!! Share this award with all those blogs out there that you love. All the people who make you smile. All those that make you laugh. All those that make your day. All those that leave uplifting comments on your blog. **All I ask, is that you include a link to this post with the award and ask your recipient to do the same**

As you may have recently seen on my side bar, I have finally created a custom blog award!! I have wanted to do this for a long time but never came up with something that “fit”. I didn’t want just anything. It had to be something that meant something to me. And what could mean more than Sharing the Love by giving you pieces of my heart??So I created this award in Honor Of The Donor That Saved Noah’s Life. I share this award with those of you whose love and friendship have enriched my life and made my world a better place.

I hope by passing this award around the blogging world we can all help raise awareness of the need for Organ Donation.

I'm sharing and spreading the love to Arlene, Mitch and Eds.

A Long Drive

We went for a 3 hours drive return (to Miami, Goldcoast) today. It felt like going on forever. It was our longest drive here ever and I think, I am not used to long travel anymore because, I was getting anxious. Good thing is, we were mostly on the motorway so it was smooth except when Mcj tested the brakes of the 4WD - the truck infront of us halted a few second distance from us. Plus Jens slept most of the time, heavenly.

We didn't stay long though. But, however brief our stay was, this view make it worthy.

And an open view of the Pacific Ocean.

Worm-y Day

The little boy now knows how to slurp spaghetti. Look at the effort. Don't you think he's cute? Oh don't forget the dimples. At first, he can't finish slurping because he bite it but well, he's getting the hang of it. Bad thing is, he doesn't bite the food that you offer him rather slurp them.

He'll get used to slurping and biting soon. The mercury is dropping everyday and staying indoors is always an option (poor outdoor furniture) as well as feeding the pig in us.

Happy Weekend!

It's a cool and gloomy weekend at our end. I can't really make up my mind if we're going out (to see the local show) or not. I wonder if Mcj is up to it despite the weather. Either way, I would be happy. Staying home means I can pursue with my reading that had been put-off for reasons that I don't know (busyness, I guess). Plus, I maybe able to finish playing chess with our wardrobe. I've been rearranging stuff for more than a week now. It is taking me so long because of the interuptions that can't be avoided nor ignored, like the whiney little boy. The only downside of staying home is eating a lot (but not too much that we would need diet pills to shed off the weight gain, if there is).

Oh, and there are movies to watch. So far, I've seen 3 movies just this weekend. We're half through the fourth one. Will post about them later.

For now, let me wish you a Happy Weekend friends.

At Last!

... nakapaglaba din ako.

It had been raining for more than a week and I was scheduled to do my week's laundry last Wednesday but it rained. So imagine the pile of dirty clothes we had. Two weeks laundry. I did three loads of washing - one yesterday noon and two today. The last batch was not quite dry but I picked them off the line as they'll get misty from the draught. I'll put them out the sun tom.

Wala kasi kaming dryer. In our state, we don't really need one except when it rain for more than a week. Our fresh clothes are running low but we can still get by for another week. I am more worried with the mould to attack those damp ones especially the towels.

I've told Mcj several times since last weekend that if the rain won't stop soon, we need to buy a dryer. So when the stars came out Monday night, he told me right away that I can do the laundry the next day. Takot baka mapabili kami ng dryer nang wala sa oras. :)

Cleanin' - cleanin'

The little boy's pockets were full of sand from the park. They scattered on the bed so Mcj tried to clean. A noise new to Jens was created and he was fascinated so he copied his Dad. Now, when we say "clean", he would right away do that motion - even on my face or his Dadss chest. But what mesmerized me was his ability to copy in a snap and can repeat it after another day. I'm really a proud Mum.
